THE ISSA/Digicel Rural Netball competition will kick into high gear next Tuesday, when matches in the second round are played at various venues across the island.

Action will get under way in both the junior and senior categories, where teams are divided into four groups in both sections. Holmwood Technical are the defending champions in both sections and the Christiana-based team is drawn in Group Four in the junior section.

The other teams are Montego Bay High, Clarendon College, Old Harbour, Islington and Titchfield. Last year beaten finalist Denbigh High are in Group One along with Anchovy High, Frome Technical, St Elizabeth Technical, Bishop Gibson and St Hilda's High.

Herbert Morrison High will lead Group Three teams which include Bellefield High, Edwin Allen, Guys Hill, St Mary's High and Yallahs. Group Two will include Mannings High, Rusea's, Black River, Manchester, Glenmuir and Ocho Rios.

Holmwood, who are also the All-Island defending senior champions after defeating urban champions St Hugh's last year, have been drawn in Group Four to defend their title. Other teams in the group are Muschett High, Thompson Town High, Dinthill Technical, St Mary High and Titchfield.

In Group One are Irwin High, Frome Technical, Black River High, Decarteret College, Denbigh High and Albert Town High. Group Two includes Mannings, Knockalva Technical, Steths, Manchester High, Glenmuir and Brown's Town High. In Group Three are Herbert Morrison High, Porus, Edwin Allen, Tacius Golding High, Oracabessa High and Happy Grove High.
