CRYSTAL HARRISON, STAR Writer
It has been a long search for 22-year-old Kay Ann Phipps who says that for eight years she has been desperately searching for her dad. "I left Jamaica around 1989, I was about nine months to one year old. My grandma told me my father's name might be Robert Phipps. However, he also might go by the name of Chris Phipps. People in Jamaica knew my mother as Marcia Marshall, but her real name is Hyacinth Douglas," she said. According to Phipps, who now resides in New York and is a senior student at the Albany University, "the last place where I heard my father was residing was in Patrick City," she said. Phipps further reasoned "meeting my father, would bring closure to my life, and I always wanted to know my other half of the family," she said. According to Phipps, she would love to have her father at her May 2011 graduation. That, she says, would mean the world to her. "I know very little information about my father, and no one has given me any real statement as to why I wasn't allowed to see him. Over the years, I have only been given certain information that has allowed me to try to search for my father on my own," she said. Anyone with any information that could help Phipps is being ask to call her at 646-221-1135 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 646-221-1135 end_of_the_skype_highlighting or e-mail her at kayann.phipps@gmail.com.
