With the passage of Tropical Storm Tomas, several entertainers are now expressing a sigh of relief that Jamaica was not severely affected.

They (entertainers) said that based on their experience with Tropical Storm Nicole which ravaged sections of the island in the recent past, they were hoping there would not be a reoccurrence of such damage this time around.

Deejay Charly Black, who weathered the storm at his Trelawny home, spoke with THE STAR saying, "Well, personally still, is a great feeling to know that the storm neva do any real damage, and moved away from Jamaica. But mi nuh really think Haiti can manage it, especially with the state that they're in right now. But wi need fi jus gwaan pray fi dem, like how them did a pray fi we."

"Mi did done buy a whole heap a Grace tin mackerel, candle, matches and rum, an' ting. Mi did prepare myself for the storm still," he added.

Several entertainers also took to popular social networking sites facebook and twitter to express themselves.

Showing sympathy for neighbouring country Haiti, dancer-turned-recording artiste Mystic, yesterday tweeted, "Take a plane 2 Haiti n carry all u bought ... use it over there n shutup!!!"

Lady Saw wished safety for everyone as she tweeted, "I pray that everyone is dry and safe tonight and after tonight."

Mavado's manager, Julian Jones-Griffith, was also thankful that the storm did not hit Jamaica as he tweeted, "Joke ya, give thanks and praise it pass an Jamaica didn't get affected badly cuz we don't need that right now, at all."

My Heart singer, Wayne Marshall, was also among the tweeters, but was in a more celebratory mood with, "OK, so Tomas tush... the weekend is back on track! Me house full a food. I should keep a party!!"
