Schoolgirl netball postponed

THE ISSA/Digicel urban schoolgirl netball competition is now in its latter stages and was expected to start at the Leila Robinson Courts yesterday, but due to inclement weather the matches were postponed until next Wednesday at the same venue.

After weeks of action in the preliminary stages of the competition, 12 teams from both the junior and senior divisions have advanced and are divided into two groups where the winners will face off with each other for the top prize.

Defending junior champions Queen's High, who have been unbeaten so far this season, will head Group I which includes Vauxhall, Camperdown, St Andrew High, St Jago High and Meadowbrook. Teams in Group II are St Hughs, Mona, Hydel, Wolmer's Girls, St Catherine High and Excelsior.

Defending champions St Hugh's are in Group II in the senior section. They are joined by Alpha, Tarrant, Wolmer's Girls, Bridgeport and Holy Childhood.

In Group I the teams are St Andrew Technical, Vauxhall, Camperdown, Haile Selassie, St Andrew High and Queen's.

Matches will be played in both the junior and senior league on the same day with all games being at the Leila Robinson Courts.
