Gunmen try to rob school canteen |

|
Gunmen fired several shots inside the canteen at the York Castle High School in Brown's Town, St Ann, on Wednesday during a reported robbery attempt. Reports are that two armed men made their way on to the school compound and proceeded to the canteen where they put on masks, and brandished weapons before demanding money from employees. The men are said to have thrown a plastic bag at one of the cashiers, telling her to fill it up with all the money the canteen had made for the day. When the cashier hesitated, the men then reportedly opened fire. No one was reportedly hurt. Further reports are that the sound of gunfire caused a number of students to panic and when an alarm was raised, the gunmen then fled the scene. The police say they have no leads into the incident but will continue their investigations. |
