Robbers remanded |

The two men who allegedly went on a robbery spree and were apprehended after one of the accused was cornered and beaten by a crowd were remanded when they appeared in the Corpo-rate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. They are Clive McPherson and Sackena Bucknor both from Kingston addresses. file not ready McPherson and Bucknor are both charged with robbery with aggravation. Both men have denied the allegations. They are to return to court on November 4, when the matter will be mentioned as their file is not ready. The $277,000 that was recovered by the police was returned to the complainant in court yesterday. Allegations are that Bucknor robbed the complainant of her handbag at knifepoint and then jumped on a motorcycle that was being driven by McPherson on September 15, at around 1:15 p.m. along North Odeon Avenue, Kingston 10. overturned It is alleged that McPherson in a bid to escape lost control of the motorcycle and overturned. He was then held and beaten by a crowd. Bucknor was then apprehended by the police a short distance away from where the incident happened. It is alleged that the men had robbed $277,000 from the complainant along with US$600 (J$53,400). The money was recovered by the police. |
