KipRich does song to 'correct' Kartel |

![]() File - KipRich Hasani Walters,STAR Writer Dancehall artiste KipRich is denouncing rumours that his recent song, 'Caan Get Brown', was done as a counteraction to Vybz Kartel's 'Cake Soap' song which was released in past weeks. In a recent television interview, Kartel said he had achieved his complexion by washing his face with cake soap and in the song he sings of being 'cool like mi wash mi face wid di cake soap'. KipRich said he wanted to set the record straight about the significance of his song, and the reason it was recorded. "Everybody a call mi a ask bout di song, all call from foreign mi a get," said KipRich. "Is not a counteraction, is a correction," he explained. "Yuh have people weh literally believe seh di soap can change dem colour. Yes it will mek yuh cool for the moment, but it caan change yuh colour," he continued. bleaching issue KipRich introduces the Birch Hill-produced track with a conversation with his 'mammi' saying, Den a weh yah guh wid suh much cake soap massa? Afta suh much clothes nuh deh yah fi wash/ Den mammi yuh nuh hear wah Gaza seh? KipRich, however, took a neutral stance with his view on the bleaching issue saying, "A whole heap of persons doing it right now but me nah guh bleach my skin, a dat mi know. Everybody own themself, a man do wah him waan do, mi nah bash dem or nutten is just fi dem ting dat," he said KipRich has been busy creating songs, which he said were to educate the public as they were mainly about reality and they highlight serious issues in life. He will be shooting videos for his recent singles, Mi Nuh Beleive Inna Obeah on Baby G's Badda Dan rhythm, Mi A Look Ova Mi Shoulder, which fans can look out for, as well as his new single done for Big Yard Music. |
