More than 30 of the worlds surfing nations have fielded teams to this year's renewal of the Games in South Americas oldest surf nation where epic surfing waves as large as 15feet are predicted for the event. "This is the coldest waves I have ever surfed in my life!" said Ackeam Phillips of the frigid south Pacific Ocean. The opening ceremony took place yesterday with the team in high spirits and scheduled to surf in their first-round heats beginning today. "With only four members of what should have been an eight-member team it will be impossible to garner maximum possible points" said Jamaica Surfing Association president Billy Wilmot "This year's goal is for team members to deliver their best individual performances to date" Persons interested in following the team's progress at the event, live action can be viewed on line at http://billabongpro.com/isa10/live/ where the public can send text messages for the team. |
