The unbeaten Racing Links and Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) will meet in the final of the 2010 Racing Fraternity League following contrasting semi-final wins at Ironside, Gregory Park, on Wednesday. The final will be played at Ironside ground on Sunday, starting at 4:00 p.m. This will be preceded at 3:00 p.m. by the third-place play-off between losing semi-finalists Owners and Landscape, who topped Zone A. On Wednesday, CTL clipped the previously unbeaten Landscape 1-0 courtesy of a penalty converted by Frederick 'Polka' Kenward in the dying stages. Kenward was brought down in front of the goal and made no mistake from the resulting penalty kick. In the second match, Zone B winners Racing Links drubbed Owners 3-0, thanks to a double strike from Kerrigan Carty in the eighth and 36th minutes, and Oliver Buchanan in the 38th. The final will be immediately followed by the presentation of trophies and prizes. The seven-a-side competition is sponsored by the United Bookmakers Association, Track Price Plus, Markham Betting, Champion Betting, General Painting, McKay Security, Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders Association, Sports Gear and Trevor Dunkley and Associates. - O.C. |
