Suspects held, gun seized in police operation |

|
The Montego Bay police have taken 28 persons into custody following a cordon and search operation in Long Bay, St James, on Thursday. An illegal firearm was seized in the incident. Four of the 28, which includes one female, have been arrested for reasonable suspicion of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. The other 24 persons in custody are now being processed. The Montego Bay police are reporting that about 1:45 a.m., police carried out a cordon and search operation in the area, during which a popular night club was searched. A Glock 17 pistol, and a magazine with 16 9 mm rounds were found in a handbag. Twenty-eight persons, five of them women, were taken into custody. Investigations are continuing. |
