A man who was discovered to be illiterate by the police was arrested and charged for presenting forged documents to recover a seized Nissan Sunny motor vehicle. He is Errol Williams, 44-year-old farmer from a Kintyre address. He has been charged with conspiracy to deceive, false declaration and possession of forged documents. Allegations are that on July 21 Williams presented a counterfeit driver's licence, along with other forged documents, to the police to recover his motor vehicle that was seized. Further investigations done by the police also revealed that Williams could not read and that he has tendered the same documents to the police on previous occasions. Williams, who pleaded guilty, was fined $40,000 or two years and five months in prison. |
