Man fined for false licence plate

This was how Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey described the actions of Glen Lawrence who had a false licence plate on his motor vehicle.

It is alleged that on August 4, Lawrence was seen by the police driving a green 1994 Toyota motor car. the police, however, noted that Lawrence's vehicle had on a licence plate that was seen on another vehicle.

Allegations are that when police checked, it was discovered the licence plate belonged to another vehicle. Lawrence was arrested and charged with fraudulent use of licence plate, conspiracy to defraud and possession of a false licence plate.

Lawrence, who pleaded guilty in the Corporate Area resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, was fined $30,000 or six months imprisonment.
