Defending champions Tank-Weld Metals defeated Scotiabank Group 2-0 in extra-time to retain their Business House Division One Five-A-Side football title on Tuesday at the National Water Commission (NWC) field in Mona.

The game was an evenly contested affair, with national goalkeeper Richard McCallum making some brilliant saves to prevent Donovan Hibbert, Damion Gordon, Akeem Thenstead and Nicholas McCreath from scoring in the first half.

At the other end, Scotiabank's custodian Damion Crooks was also busy between the sticks, as he also prevented Jermaine Gray, Theo Brown, Jonathan Williams and Lorenzo Johnson from scoring.

However, the match swung in Tank-Weld's favour early in the second half when Scotiabank defender Damion Gordon was red-carded for a dangerous tackle on Damion Robinson. The game ended 0-0 and went into extra time. Jermaine Gray scored a double in the 64th and 70th minutes to ensure that his team remained champions.

Tank-Weld collected the winning trophy and $60,000, while Scotiabank took home the runners-up trophy and $30,000.

Scotiabank B was awarded the Most Disciplined Team in the competition, receiving one yellow card in their 14 matches. Klas Sports FM 89 was voted the Most Improved Team, while Michael Lewis and Garfield Robinson of NWC were voted the Manager and Coach of the Season, respectively.
