Jermaine Anderson's late goal lifted Waterhouse to 1-0 win over rivals Tivoli Gardens, at the Waterhouse Mini-Stadium yesterday, and back atop the Digicel Premier League, which they currently share with Portmore United who registered an identical win over Sporting Central at Brancourt.

Anderson's 86th-minute header earned Waterhouse their fourth victory of the season. They move to 13 points, while Tivoli remain on nine points after suffering their second lost.

Tivoli should have gone into the interval with the lead when Navion Boyd followed up on his free kick effort with a snapshot in the 40th minute. The ball found its way through to an unmarked Kevin Blackford in the area but his shot was too close to the keeper allowing him to thwart the danger with the help of his defence.

well-measured chip

Devon Hodges got his best opportunity of the game in the 79th minute when a well-measured chip by Blackford found him in the area but his thunderous header went wide of the left upright.

At Brancourt, Steven Morrisey made the most of the one clear chance Portmore had to defeating homeside Sporting Central 1-0. Although they had very little possession the goal was expertly delivered by Morrisey, the lone attacking threat from the visitors.

Title-holders Harbour View, in the meantime, registered an impressive 5-1 win over rivals Boys' Town to snap a three game winless streak at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium yesterday. Jermaine Hue opened the scoring in the 15th minute and completed a brace in the 56th, while John-Ross Edwards (47th), Rafiek Thomas (79th) and Marcelino Blackburn (83rd) got one each.

At Lynch Park, St Georges captain Jermaine Taylor led by example, as his 9th minute free kick led the Portland team to a 1-0 win over Humble Lion, their first of the season. The win saw St Georges move to four points lifting themselves above Humble Lion who dropped to last place with one point. In other games, Reno and Village played to a 1-1 draw at Frome, while Arnett also played to a 1-1 draw with Benfica at Drax Hall.
