Mother, son remanded for murder

Linnette Folks and Tremaine Bromley, a mother and son who found themselves in trouble with the law after they were charged with conspiracy to murder and murder, respectively, were remanded in custody again when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Both are to return to court on November 4, when the matter will be mentioned as the post-mortem report is still outstanding.

Allegations are that on Sunday April 11, around 1:30 p.m., a resident of Harbour View stumbled upon the body of Nique Newton and summoned the police. Upon the arrival of the police, Newton's partially burnt body was seen face down in an open lot on Harbour View Drive with multiple wounds. The scene was processed and the body was removed to the morgue for post-mortem.

It is further alleged that witnesses gave statements to the police against Folks and Bromley and this was what led to them being arrested and charged.
