Thanks to a pit bull, a 60-year-old diabetic man is alive after he was viciously attacked by another dog earlier this week.

The man who is the caretaker at the home of a popular female artiste was reportedly attacked on Monday. The dog that attacked him was also a pit bull and the offspring of the animal which saved him.

According to a source, the man received serious injuries to his feet.

"The dog grabbed his feet and bit him through his shoes. He was lucky that the other pit bull which is the dog's mother saw what was happening and came to his rescue and grabbed the dog by his throat and pulled him away," the source said.

permanent injures

The source further said that permanent injuries could possibly occur based on the wounds which the dog inflicted to the man's feet.

"He is diabetic so the injuries pose a problem. He was told to stay in bed so that the wounds can heal properly," he explained.

Based on information obtained by THE STAR, the man had been around the animal since he was a pup.

However, on the day of the incident he was surprisingly attacked by the animal.

"He was walking by and the dog just pushed him to the ground and attacked him," the source added.

The man subsequently received medical treatment and his wounds stitched. The medical expenses for the caretaker are being paid by the artiste.
