IT took trainer Robert Pearson almost four years to win his first race after graduating from the Jamaica Racing Commission's trainers' programme in 2006.

However, his first and only winner to date, TRADITIONAL PRINCE, is the ante-post favourite for not only Saturday's Cash Pot 'Only One For Me' trophy race, but the trilogy of races in the $11.8m Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) Two-Year-Old Series.

When the weights were released yesterday by Caymanas Track Limited, TRADITIONAL PRINCE, one of two entrants with two wins to his credit, was listed with topweight 56.0 kilos.

Panamanian Dick Cardenas, who has been aboard the colt in his three starts to date, the last two convincing victories, will again partner the chestnut colt.

Pearson's runner won at 1100 metres on August 14, cruising in by eight lengths in a time of 1:07.2. He returned on September 25 to dispute the lead with Philip Feanny's ISNT SHE SOMETHIN before pulling off to win in 1:20.1 going 1300 metres.

TRADITIONAL PRINCE's main rival should be champion trainer Wayne DaCosta's FATTY BUM BUM, who reported with a tongue-tie fitted to turn the tables on ANNIE OAKLEY in 1:07.2 at 1100 metres on August 28.

FATTY BUM BUM will carry 54.5 kilos. Connections of both horses are aiming to draw first blood in the SVL Two-Year-Old Series which carries a $1m bonus for any horse who sweeps what has been dubbed the Two-Year-Old Triple Crown.

SVL will on Saturday add an extra $850,000 to nine other races on the holiday-weekend programme, which continues on Monday's Heroes Day.

Saturday's co-feature is the Grade One None Such Sprint with top importee RONRON looking to rebound from her September 25 defeat to local-bred THE GUV at a mile.
