Patrick Roberts says - No 'issues' with tax
Popular music producer-turned-politician Patrick Roberts says he has no "issues" with the tax department "at this time".

Roberts was commenting on yesterday's seizure, by tax administration officials, of a luxury BMW X5 from his St Andrew home.

The vehicle was reportedly seized by the special enforcement team of the Tax Administration Department (TAD) for outstanding taxes.

However, Roberts, who is the head of record-producing company Shocking Vibes Records, explained that the vehicle is owned by a car dealership, which is in arrears on its taxes.

He said the car was in his possession because he bought it from the dealership, but had not yet transferred it to his name.

"What they were doing is retrieving the assets of the car company ... it has nothing to do with Patrick Roberts whatsoever," he asserted.

An official at the TAD confirmed his account, saying "the vehicle was seized in relation to another tax matter".
