A 23-year-old man who pleaded guilty to wounding his mother, Sandra Duncan, will have to seek counselling along with his mother to resolve their issues.

He is Kirk Brown from a Kingston 19 address.

Allegations are that on September 11, around noon, Brown and his mother got into an argument and a piece of metal chain and a piece of board were used to hit her all over her body causing swelling and bruises to her left arm and the left side of her back.

"Him beat mi all di time when me talk to him. I saw condom paper in di house and me talk to him about it and him seh me nuh have nuh chat. Him beat me Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday," she said.

However, Brown told the court that his mother used a glass bottle to stab him on his hand and in one of his ears.

Brown is to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on November 9 when the matter will be mentioned and a report made on the counselling sessions.
