Two men charged with eight counts of murder in relation to the Tredegar Park killings were remanded when they appeared before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Lindon Turner, 28, of Brooklyn, Thompson Pen, St Catherine, and Anthony Richards, of a Clarendon address, were denied bail when they appeared before Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green.

The deceased were all of 'Monkey Town' in Tredegar Park, St Catherine.

When the case came up for mention, attorney-at-law Courtney Maxwell told the court that Richards should not be charged as there was no identification parade.

"Your Honour, Mr Richards should not be here as the only thing the police have is that someone claimed they heard a voice like Richards," Maxwell said.

He added that the investigators got information to work on and failed.

Resident Magistrate Dunbar-Green told the lawyer the matter will be transferred to the Gun Court.

The men were told to appear in the Gun Court on September 22.

Clerk of Court, Leary Phillips, outlined that on Friday, August 13, about 12:30 a.m., the two accused along with 13 others armed with guns invaded Tredegar Park.

They went to three homes firebombed one and killed the eight persons at their homes.

Both Turner and Richards were later held by the police. They are facing eight counts of murder, illegal possession of firearm and one count of arson.
