Dear Pastor, One of the most ungrateful men I have ever met is my son's father. I allowed this man to travel. The first time he took a plane was as a result of what I did here in Canada through family. He came and spent two weeks. I thought everything was all right, but little did I know this man was in various relationships with other women. This was about two years after I left Jamaica. I was engaged to this man and was expecting his child. help out He was always telling me to work and help him build on his land. To my surprise, he called me one day after he had returned to Jamaica and told me he was expecting my family to give him gifts and how he wanted to be in a family that was more caring. I was devastated by what he said. I, however, tried everything I could to make him happy, but everything I did failed. He was in a relationship with another woman and wanted to end the relationship with me. I found out his woman is pregnant. I have learnt so many things from this man and how men can be so cruel to women, especially when you are in a long-distance relationship. One of the best things that happened to me was him leaving my life. I was fully blinded. I now see the light. The way to deal with ungrateful, family, friends, spouse or associates is to just leave them all to God. He will do what you cannot do for yourself. R. S., Canada Dear R.S., You have the right attitude. Only God can give His people peace of mind and bring happiness to the soul. Some men are, indeed, very cruel. They do wicked things to women. Many of these women are the ones who put them on their feet. They support and provide for them. Many of them were in the dumps and women took them, washed and nourished them. After they are able to help themselves, they treat the women like floor mats. Ausonius wrote, "Nothing more detestable does the earth produce than an ungrateful man." You are a strong woman. You will do well if you continue to put God first in your life. The man you once considered to be your man, evidently, does not deserve you. You did you best for him. Dry your tears and walk away.
