Double The Honey a sweet bet
Jimmie, Star Racing Writer

WAYNE DACOSTA's lightning fast colt, unbeaten American colt DOUBLE THE HONEY, is a free banker in tomorrow afternoon's sixth event, a conditional overnight allowance at 1200 metres.

Unbeaten in three starts, DOUBLE THE HONEY's last two wins were against Gary Subratie's RONRON, allowing the American filly on both occasions.

RONRON has since won four consecutive races up to open allowance where she has another race before taking on grade one.

DOUBLE THE HONEY, who has not raced since April 5, reports at least three levels lower than where RON RON now competes, making him a shut-eye banker on every bet tomorrow afternoon. It doesn't even make sense mentioning his rivals although REGGAE ROCK should fill the exacta.

Omar Walker, who should enjoy an armchair ride aboard DOUBLE THE HONEY, should close a quick double with SKIPAWAY PRINCE in the 1000-metre straight seventh event.

Gregory Bucknor's SKIPAWAY PRINCE returns to his pet trip, 1000 metres straight, favourably drawn at post-position one. The four-year-old gelding loves running along the rail and lost several lengths when pulling apprentice Jevvanne Erwin down to the inner in his May 24 loss at the distance to EXPRESS TRAIN.

Walker should breeze his mount on to the main track before asking him to run while keeping an eye on CIO MOTO and SEA TRAVELLER on his outside.

Start those Track Price Plus Pick-6 bets at the opening event by banking Richard Azan's first-timer, WINCHESTER, in the 800-metre straight event for maiden two-year-olds.

The Triple Crown winning combination of Panamanian Dick Cardenas and Azan make a great team. According to Azan, they "speak the same language", which has been producing many winners. WINCHESTER appears to be a speedy sort, having breezed a bullet 23.4 the first time of asking at exercise in mid-June. He has not been spotted much at exercise this month but should still outclass his five rivals.

Erwin, who booted home a triple on Wednesday, will be hard to deny aboard TOBAGO in the second event.

TOBAGO is back at his happy hunting ground, top-level claiming, where he won by two lengths at 1400 metres on June 12, beating ROYAL MAJESTY and NATURAL DESIRE.

The nine-year-old has everything in his favour - he loves a wide draw, comes in at 53.0 kilos and should again run rivals off their legs in his relentless front-running style.

Apprentice Chalrick Budhai appears to have an easy task aboard first-timer SLIGOVILLE in the third at 1000 metres straight. The four-year-old colt has been in training since February and looks way advanced when compared to his rivals, some of whom have really been struggling.

Close all bets with SEA DEVIL in the eighth at 1100 metres. The three-year-old filly has been catching birds at exercise, clocking sub-minute times in his last two workouts at 1000 metres straight, the last being 59.4 Sunday morning.
