Dear Pastor, Praise the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. I must say a big 'thank you' for taking time out of your busy schedule to read this letter. Please help me, this is my second letter to you. I listen to your show every night. I have learnt a lot, so please keep up the good work as you encourage, strengthen and make a difference in so many lives. You are special, different and real. You like to say things as they are. I wish others who call themselves followers of Christ would take a leaf from your book and the church would be a healing place for wounded souls. When I wrote you the first time, I told you all about myself, I was so depressed. I had to trust God each and every day. At night, you put me to bed with the hope of seeing the next day. I have so much to say but I will get to the point. Things have changed and I have been to the United Kingdom (UK) three times, divorced my husband and I have not seen him in 10 years. That was the biggest depression that faced me. I am a member of a Pentecostal church and they don't believe in divorce. Many women are suffering in the churches because of some of these rules. I went away and got my divorce and visited my children in the UK. Now I am planning to get married again in October. i need your advice I met this man in the UK, and he took me to see his mother and other members of his family. He has two sons and a granddaughter whom he loves very much. He went to church with me in the UK. He is 63 and I am 50. He loves my children. My daughter is a doctor, my son is a soldier and the other is studying to become a doctor in the UK. I would like us to meet with you for advice as you are a good- hearted counsellor. Will you officiate at our wedding, please? I look forward to hearing from you. I have sent you my phone number and will call your office soon. I love the Lord and want to get married and stay on the ship. Please pray for us that God will be with us forever, and bless us as we are soon to make our vows. May God continue to bless and keep you, your family and church family under His blood. S.Y., St. James Dear S.Y., I am very happy to hear from you. I want you to know that I wish you much happiness. I cannot say that you were wrong to divorce your first husband. You were very unhappy and depressed. It seems to me that you are happy with your new man. It would be a delight to officiate at your wedding. Set the date and let me know. Make sure you have a copy of the Decree Absolute and copy of your birth certificate and the gentleman's birth certificate or passport etc when you are coming to see me. You will have to procure a Minister's Licence. When I meet with both of you I would explain everything to you. Again I say, I am happy for you and I stand ready to assist you. Pastor |
