Cops seek help in double murder

The Trelawny police are seeking the assistance of the public in apprehending the five men alleged to be involved in fatally shooting and chopping of an ex-solider and a farmer in Trelawny yesterday.

Dead are 28-year-old, Dwayne Petgrave, also called Colonel, and Marlon Johnson, 26, both of Mahogany district in the parish.

Police reports are that about 10:30 a.m. both men were in the company of two men walking to their fields when they were approached by a group of five men armed with mac-hetes and guns.

The report indicated that the armed men attacked the farmers, killing two. The two other farmers escaped. The police were summoned by residents and the bodies of the men were found at the scene of the incident.

The police are appealing to persons who might have knowledge of the men or their whereabouts to contact the Trelawny police at 954-1080, Kingfish at 311, Crime Stop at 811, 119 or the nearest police station.
