Rameish Reid was told he has to stay with the police until August 10. Reid appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday where it was mentioned that on June 14 Reid broke into a house in the Spanish Town area. While attempting to enter a safe, he was seen by a 70-year-old woman. He was said to have attacked her with a pair of scissors before a 30-year-old woman intervened. The younger woman was, however, said to have been beaten and taken to a room where she was sexually assaulted. Items of jewellery and money were taken by the accused. The court was told that a phone call was made to the police and Reid was allegedly held with the loot. He was charged with rape, abduction, housebreaking, robbery with aggravation and indecent assault. He is scheduled to return to court on August 10 when the case will again be mentioned. |
