Upcoming artiste Vypa

After 10 years in the music business, upcoming artiste Vypa is finally ready to take the music business serious.

The artiste, whose real name is Glenford Goode, said he started out deejaying on his sound system Hurricane.

"I got started when operating my sound system. I would take the mic and just deejay for the people and they really liked the vibe. So, I thought something was in it for me," said Vypa, who is based in Canada.

"I didn't take it serious then but like the past six years is when I really decide that I want a career in the music business."

Since then, Vypa, who is from St Thomas, has recorded a few songs like a cover of Lionel Richie's Stuck On You, I Love You Girl and Sunshine.

Although he is based in Canada, Vypa said some of his songs are done in Jamaica. And, to make himself more visible in the island, he said he plans to make more trips here to help in promotions.

"I only come back twice a year but now that I decide to take it serious, I have to come back to Jamaica more often," Vypa said, noting that he will be releasing a couple music videos in the near future.
