Teens arrested for gun

A 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were on Monday arrested for breaching the Firearms Act after lawmen found an illegal firearm at a house where the teens were at Pitt Street, Falmouth, Trelawny, police said.

Reports are that about 7:15 p.m., several explosions were heard in the community, triggering lawmen to investigate. Police said a search of a house yielded a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver with two cartridges.

The teens, who were occupying the premises at the time were arrested, the police revealed.

Further investigations are being carried out by the Falmouth police. Up to late yesterday, none of the teens had been charged.
