Woman answers to assault charge |

|
A 29-year-old woman appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to answer to a charge of wounding with intent. The court was told that Roberta Taylor, from Majesty Gardens, St Andrew, stabbed the complainant in her back. The blade of the knife, the court heard, barely missed her lungs. As a result, the complainant had to be admitted to hospital for three days and now suffers from breathing complications. The court was informed that the incident happened on April 12, during an argument in which Taylor verbally assaulted the complainant. The complainant told the court that upon walking away from Taylor she felt a pain in her back, and realised she had been stabbed. It is alleged that both women are sexually involved with a man with whom the complainant lives and has children with. Taylor is to return to court on May 26. |
