Carlene Davis takes ministry to Africa |

![]() File - Carlene Davis Even with the recent spate of misfortunes affecting the local secular music industry, the gospel fraternity continues to thrive. One of the main thrusts behind this phenomenon is being led the spiritually charged minister, Dr Carlene Davis, and her company, Glory Music. Earlier this week, Davis departed the island for the shores of Uganda, Africa, where she will be ministering to thousands at the Gospel Praise Worship in Kampala between April 30 and May 3. This comes on the heels of her recent stint in Antigua at the Gems as Eagle Apostolic and Prophetic Conference. She also met and prayed with Antiguan Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer before presenting him with copies of the True Worship and Best of Glory albums. Davis also ministered to the faithful at the Best Dressed Fun In The Son concert held on the grounds of Jamaica College in Kingston, with Kirk Franklin as the headliner. This year saw a massive outpouring of more than 100,000 devotees which Davis inspired with her songs and messages of hope. On the music scene, her latest video, Ambassador For Christ, currently enjoys premium rotation on BET Video Gospel Sundays. The singles Rivers of Babylon and Triumph are two of the most played songs on Premiere Radio, the United Kingdom's No. 1 Christian radio station. On her return to Jamaica, Davis will turn her attention to the Michi Super Centre on Washington Boulevard for its one-year anniversary on May 30. From there she will jet off to Dominica on June 4 and New York on June 6, before heading to Canada from June 12 to 13, and Curaçao and Suriname in August. True Worship is in stores now and is also available digitally via VP Records. |
