Some of the most certified international divas, Jazmine Sullivan, Queen Ifrica, Alison Hinds and Free, are set to blaze at the second annual staging of Carlyle Foundation's Life Fest Peace and Love Concert at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on May 1. Queen Ifrica presented her second full-length album to the world last year entitled Montego Bay. At Life Fest, the Fyah Mumma's performance will centre on a sombre mood as the ever relevant Streets are Bloody, Daddy and Keep it to Yourself tracks will reverberate throughout the venue as she delivers these and other spiritually empowering anthems. Caribbean Queen, a.k.a Alison Hinds, will hypnotize concert goers with hits from her recently released iTunes album Caribbean Queen. Hinds collaborated with two leading Jamaican cultural artistes, namely Jah Cure on the single Call On Me and Richie Spice for the track King & Queen, a duet performance to look forward to at the concert. Marie Wright, known to the world as BET's 106 and Park first host 'Free', wears several hats: singer, songwriter, rapper, radio and television personality and music producer. She will draw on the skills so diligently acquired whilst hosting 106 and Park for five years and more recently her stint at New York radio station Power 105.1 where she co-hosted the morning programme with Ed Lover. Other artistes slated to perform at the concert include, Damion and Stephen Marley, Tosh 1, Liam Bailey, Capleton, I-Octane, Richie Spice, Konshens, Chino, Laden, Briggy, Tajji and Spragga Benz. The event will be co-hosted by Jamaica's own DJ Bambino. MCs for the event will be Isis and Burger. Gates open at 7 p.m. and show time is 10 p.m. Tickets are available at all leading ticket outlets. Presold ticket prices for general admission is $1000 and VIP $2000; at the gate $1500 and $2500. Sponsors for this year's event include Boomtunes, Spragga Benz Music, D'Empire Management, Team Force Audio, Ghetto Youths International, THE STAR, GraceKennedy, Yardflex.com, RE TV, Nesta Brand, HYPE TV, Sign Channel, Events R Us and Dancehallreggaeweseh.com. |
