A man accused of being involved in a gruesome stabbing along with other persons, strongly rejected the allegations through his lawyer, indicating that he was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. Jermaine Johnson, 22, who is unemployed and of a Corporate Area address, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magis-trate's Court Thursday, charged with possession of ganja and felonious wounding. He pleaded guilty to possession of ganja and was fined $100. He returns April 27 on the wounding charge. Allegations are that the complainant was attacked by a group of men who stabbed him several times. He had to undergo surgery and spent seven days in the hospital. Johnson's lawyer told the court that her client had nothing to do with the stabbing and was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. She said he was not called by any of the aliases given by the complainant. Johnson was granted $250,000 bail and given a curfew order between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. He is to report to the Cross Roads Police Station three days per week. |
