The deejay was riding his bike.

Mavado's manager, Julian Jones Griffith, spoke to THE STAR from the hospital where the deejay was being treated. He said sometime after 5 p.m., the deejay was riding his bike when a female driver made a sudden turn across the road causing him to collide into the car.

Jones Griffith said the deejay appeared to be doing fine. He, however, said the doctors would be doing X-rays to check for internal injuries. "He is awake and he is laughing and talking, so it looks as if everything is alright, or at least on the surface. He is still in good spirits."

The manager said no official police report had been made of the accident, as ascertaining the state of the deejay's health was the most important thing. "If needs be, we will do that [the police] another time, but the good thing is that our friend is alive and alright."

The bike crash is the latest in a recent series of unfortunate events affecting the deejay. Just last weekend, it was revealed that he was among five deejays who had lost their US visas.
