Star Tell Me Pastor

Locking up shop

Dear Pastor,

I am 17-year-old girl attending a prominent high school. I was successful in all my exams and I am going to college next year. My boyfriend is 24 years old and has a son. All he seems to care about is sex. He offers me things, but I refuse. He is in love with me. He also seems as if he won't let me go.

What do you think I should do? Please give me your fatherly advice.

A.B., St. Thomas, Jamaica

Dear A.B.,

I believe you are correct. This young man may offer you occasional gifts, but his main purpose, at the moment in having you as his girlfriend, is for sex. You have nothing apart from sex to offer him. The day you stop having sex with him, he will be gone. He can always find another girl who would be willing to have sex with him.

It is also possible he is still seeing his child's mother, but using you to get extra pleasure. He will let you go when you have decided not to give him any more sex. You would be doing yourself a big favour if you learn to keep your legs closed.

Pastor
