Smithfield business robbed

The owner of a workshop in Smithfield district, Westmoreland, turned up at the establishment on Monday morning to find that the shop had been broken into and three items, valuing over $100,000 had been stolen.

Reports are that at 7:30 pm on Monday, the owner locked up his business and left for the evening. When he returned at 9:30 a.m. yesterday, he noticed that crooks had gained entry to the shop and removed a powerwash machine, valuing US$450 and a whacker and DVD player, both valuing $75,000.

The Savanna-La-Mar Police are investigating the incident.
