Prison warder charged for attempting to smuggle ganja |

|
Police have charged a prison warder accused of trying to smuggle more 1.4 Kg (3 LB) of ganja into the South Camp Rehabili-tation Centre, Kingston, yesterday. Charged with breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act and possession of ganja is Clement Reid, 52, a senior correctional officer. THE STAR was told Reid is a delegate of the University and Allied Workers Union at the facility. Reports are that about 9 a.m. Reid was about to enter the facility when he was stopped and searched by police. The ganja was reportedly strapped to his body while several packs of cigarettes and other contraband were found in a bag which he was carrying. He appears in court tomorrow. |
