What's your ultimate addiction, fast cars or chocolate?

Well, whatever it is, the Pantry, on Dumfries Road in New Kingston, was the place to be on Saturday night.

Ultimate Promotions, in association with Power Wine and Rum Bar, staged 'Ultimate Addiction' Fetish of World Fantasies.

The party featured five exotic bars, and boasted an exotic chocolate fountain in the Sweet Seductions Addictive Lounge.

As early birds lined up outside, many stopped to take pictures of the fast cars that were on display. Inside, a handful of patrons were on the main dance floor, others just standing around, some sampling chocolate, courtesy of Catch.

Ultimate Addiction also boasted an impressive line-up of selectors, including the dynamic duo of Karyzma and Kruddy, Coppershot Disco, ZJ Capone, TNG Music and Yardcore Music.

cheer squad

Selections from the likes of Kartel, Mavado and Aidonia had their fans competing to see who could cheer the loudest.

When TNG took over selecting duties, the musical vibe switched in favour of hip hop, with selections from 50 Cent making the most impact.

This was followed by an intense segment of dancing and the 'energy gods' catalogue was summoned. Out of it came songs like Luggo Luggo and Sesame Street, with patrons finding the extra energy required to do the Crazy Hype.

A few police officers strolled into the venue when 'wheh dem call police fah' thundered from the speakers as they came in view of the DJs. The presence of the police normally signal the end of an event, and so the selector decided to end things with a jab at them, playing Wasp's Unfair Offica. At this point, the selector was approached and asked to turn off his set.

After some pleading by the promoter and patrons, most of whom arrived late, they were granted an additional half hour.

In this half hour, the selectors rotated the tables and the patrons made use of the leniency of the police as they made final trips to the bar and final moves on the dance floor, rocking to hot dance tracks like Ding Dong's Holiday and the club rocker, Jerk.

Thwait Hanson of Ultimate Promotions, said he was really surprised at how things turned out.

"Trust me, I am really grateful for the turnout we got. It's our first event and I am thankful for the support, and we look forward to our next event. Thanks also to our sponsors and everyone who played a part in making this a success," Hanson said.
