Investigators from the Major Investigation Task Force will continue their interrogation of a suspect believed to be involved in the murder of Constable Georgette Collymore on August 20. The suspect, whose name has not been released, has so far been charged with shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm following a shoot-out with the police in Cassava Piece, St Andrew recently. He reportedly ran leaving behind the policewoman's service pistol that was taken from her when she was gunned down at her home on August 19. Investigators say the suspect was picked up a few days later in an operation in Montego Bay, St James and was found in possession of 40 rounds of ammunition. The constable who was attached to the Constant Spring police, was shot dead when gunmen invaded her house in Mount Olgle, St Andrew. |
