The cops were brought before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court following a ruling by the director of public prosecutions who ordered that the men be charged with breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.

When their cases were mentioned, eight of the cops had the cases against them withdrawn after they agreed to comply.

Two who pleaded guilty were fined $1,000 or 10 days in prison, while the other four are to return to court on July 28.

Under the Corruption Prevention Act, the cops are required to declare their assets or file statutory returns. When they failed to do so, action was taken against them.
