Five charged in $9-million ganja find

Five men from St James have been charged in connection with last week's find of just over $9-million worth of ganja which was seized in St Elizabeth.

The men were charged on Wednesday by detectives from the Narcotics Division.

Charged with possession, dealing in, trafficking, takings steps to export and conspiracy to export ganja are Colin 'Garwood' Brown, 40, of Haughton; 29-year-old Kevin Brown; 30-year old Otheniel Bonnie, of Salt Spring; 27-year-old Greg Liston Dodd of Garland and Delroy Grottman, 37, who is also called 'Bepo' of Bogue, all in St James.

According to police reports, the men were held with the contraband just over a week ago during an operation on the Luana main road in St Elizabeth.

Police sources say one of the men is a major player in the drugs-for-guns trade being operated between Jamaica and Haiti.
