In Matterhorn's opinion (part 2 of 2)

Tony Matterhorn - Colin Hamilton

THE STAR: What are your thoughts on Jamaica being dubbed as the third happiest country in the world?

Matterhorn: "Some people are yet to say that they think so. I believe and know that it is true. I want to tell you that the Jamaicans, especially the ones from the ghetto, are definitely the happiest. Where you can go and see three different football games a play on one street and street dance everyday? It's like cool running. We always manage to give off a smile even when we don't have anything."

THE STAR: Do you think some of the dances in dancehall have become too violent?

Matterhorn: "Dancehall isn't violent. You check the last 10 years and the amount of crime reportedly coming from dancehall? You don't have 10 people a dead in dance for one year. We have dances for 365 days of the year, and at least one dead. People don't dead at dance, they normally die coming from dances ... and the dances have nothing to do with it."

THE STAR: How have the street dances, in terms of vibe, crowd support, changed over the years?

Matterhorn: "Well the street dances did maximise the Jamaican vibes. No matter how bad people talk about it. It always managed to bring unity to the music fraternity. Nothing has changed."

THE STAR: What is your wish for Jamaica for 2009?

Matterhorn: "'09 soon done still But, going into to the New Year, I hope we will settle down as a country. Most importantly, get out of this bad debt. I would love the government which, for me, is both JLP and PNP, to be more considerate and give us a more helping hand, get involved with the communities and dancehall."
