Dwayne Murphy's debut album was scheduled for release in 2007 but because of a label change, things got pushed back. Now things have fallen in place and the album is ready for release. In a previous interview with The Gleaner in November 2006, Murphy mentioned his plans to release his first album. But two years later, his album is just being launched. "It got pushed back due to the label that I was with. I used to work with Holy Ground Records but I am working with Radikal Yawd Records now. At the time, the label was going in a different direction than I wanted to. So I decided to cut all ties and move to somewhere that shared the same vision," Murphy said. The album, Posture To Praise, will be launched today (July 17) at Limelight in Half-Way Tree. Shepherd, another gospel artiste, will also launch his album, My Life My Message, at the same time. Murphy's album was compiled in eight months, through work with producers like Dale Virgo, Paul Bartley, Rayon 'Di Professor' Smith and Prodigal Son, who is also Murphy's manager. In addition, singles like Forgive Me and Father All We Need Is Love have already been released from the album, while listeners will be introduced to newer songs like Run To You, I Command You Satan and Holy Ghost Party, featuring Prodigal Son. Murphy had high praises for the album, which he says has a bit of R&B, hip-hop, praise and worship and traditional gospel. "What is different about it, is that it reflects a joyful mood. You can dance to it and you get a powerful message from it. Once you hear it, you are gonna want to forget your struggles that you have been through and praise God," Murphy told THE WEEKEND STAR. In addition, he said Shepherd's album is "off the chain" with a wonderful dancehall and reggae gospel mix. In the coming weeks, Murphy will have shows in Barbados and the United States. He will also be featured on a Radikal Yawd compilation CD.
