As the Claro/KSAFA Under-20 football competition winds down, at least six teams have booked their berths in the Champion of Champions KO competition.

Advancing from the KSAFA Super 12 are; Meadhaven, Cooreville Gardens, Harbour View and Arnett Gardens. While the preliminary round in the St Andrew zone is still incomplete, Boys' Town have already qualified from the Kingston zone, with Santos and Central Kingston battling for the second spot.

Boys' Town coach, Leon Hardware, says his team is in good physical condition. He believes the 'Red Brigade', as they are affectionately called, have an 80 per cent chance of winning the title.

"We are focused and will be taking it one day at a time," said Hardware.

The Red Brigade will be looking to players like Jamiel Hardware, Rolando Thompson, Kamar Watson and Shane Nelson.

In the meantime, Meadheaven's coach, Lijyasu Simms, believes he has a grand opportunity to win the title. His comments were based on the quality of players such as Kemal Malcolm of St George's College, Kabari Palmer, Fabian McKay, André Braithwaite of Calabar High and Akeem Brown of Wolmers', who are the backbone of his team.

According to Simms, the preparation is not going as well as he would like it as some of his players are completing the Cape examination.

"Education is first, but I think we will get the job done," said Simms.

Constant Spring and Maverley/ Hughenden are expected to complete the list of qualifiers for the Champion of Champions KO. Constant Spring have the competition's leading goal scorer, in Robert Taylor, who has scored 12 goals so far.

He is followed by Kemal Malcolm of Meadheaven, 10, and Shamari Hibbert of Central Kingston, nine.
