Dear Pastor,

I am a married woman but I am not happy. My husband does not treat me as he should treat a wife. Everything that he does is about him. He never treats me with any love or respect. He speaks down to me, even around the children.

I am a Christian. I do not know what to do. It is all so overwhelming. I need your advice.

You need to see a family counsellor. Your husband should go with you but if he refuses to go, you should go alone, to know how to cope with his behavior. If your husband respects your pastor, you may ask your pastor to meet with both of you. On the other hand, your husband may think that your pastor is taking sides with you. Therefore, if he is that type of guy, make sure you discuss with him which counsellor both of you would see.
