Cops to quiz singer Gyptian

The Stony Hill police say they will be questioning popular singer Gyptian, real name Windel Edwards, in connection with the alleged assault of man in Stony Hill recently.

The police confirmed receiving a report from the injured man, saying he was assaulted after being involved in a squabble about money. The man is said to have had to seek treatment at the Kingston Public Hospital after the incident.

It is alleged that the victim was asked to visit the singer at a location in Stony Hill to discuss the theft of $300,000 belonging to the singer. When he got there, he was sent to the back of the premises to look at something. He was attacked by three men who beat him all over the body with a pickaxe stick. He reportedly suffered injuries to the head, hands and feet and is unable to walk or move his hands.

Although no report was made against the singer, the police say he will be questioned as investigations continue.

Attempts by THE STAR to speak to the singer yesterday were unsuccessful.
