Upcoming artiste, K-Wise - Contributed
Upcoming artiste K-Wise plans to keep his music clean because he does not want to further tarnish the society.
The artiste, whose real name is Kevin Earl Thompson, said: "It's culture and ladies tunes. I don't sing anything that is improper."
He says he prefers to take the harder route to success by doing cleaner songs.
Spiritual thing
"It's a spiritual thing. if you are inclined to sing, you have to be careful what you are doing - I've decided to take the rocky road. The deejays want to take the smooth road and that is not wise," the Duhaney Park resident told THE STAR.
K-Wise is currently signed to McDove Production and with them he has done songs like Tough Love, Sometimes We Wake Up At Nights, Somebody Hear Our Cries, Girls Time and Mamma Bawl Out.
And with his positive songs, K-Wise says he has been getting good responses.
"They (listeners) respond to it good. For songs that they are just hearing, they rock and sing to it," he said.
K-Wise says he is currently working on an album, which he hopes will be released by July through McDove Productions.
And as for his distant future, the artiste hopes to own a studio through which he can help others. But, until that is possible, K-Wise is asking Jamaicans to "go on their knees and pray. Time is hard but only Jah alone can make we persevere."
