Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva was ruled out for two weeks yesterday because of a hamstring injury sustained while scoring in his comeback.
The Croatia forward marked his return from a year out injured by scoring twice in Monday's FA Cup replay win over Cardiff, but Arsenal said he hurt his hamstring just two minutes before being replaced.
It was the Brazilian-born player's first club match since his left fibula was fractured and ankle dislocated during a tackle in February 2008.
"What a nightmare," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said. "Nobody knows how it happened but I knew straight away after the game it would be a two-week job. It is nothing like he had before but I do know that little setbacks like this are part of being nine months out.
"After that long out, nobody plays six months on the trot. It is impossible."
The injury is set to rule Eduardo out of Premier League matches against Sunderland and Fulham, as well as the first leg of a Champions League match with AS Roma.
