John Hype fined


John Hype

Popular dancer John Hype was fined for possession of ganja when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The dancer, whose real name is Jonathan Prendergast, pleaded guilty to possession of ganja when the matter was mentioned.

Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brow then fined him $200 or 10 days for the offence.

John Hype is known for inventing several popular local dances, such as Signal Di Plane and Fan Dem Off. He has also appeared in several music videos, including Beenie Man's King of the Dancehall.
