Satisfier looks good

Ainsley Walters, Star Racing Writer

DENNIS Lee's SATISFIER, who hooked up with AD INFINITUM and RUM TALK for almost 11 furlongs in the 12-furlong Harry Jackson Memorial on December 31, gets the nod ahead of old rival CHIPONYOURSHOULDER in tomorrow's ninth event for top claimers over a mile.

Both runners exchanged victories against each other at the backend of the season, SATISFIER winning at 1700 metres on October 29 before CHIPONYOURSHOULDER turned the tables at 1400 metres on December 3.

CHIPONYOURSHOULDER changed stables after his loss to SATISFIER, moving to Welsh Soutar's barn at which he showed some improvement. The five-year-old returned to chase and beat ASKAWOMAN and QUEEN OF MY HEART at 1400 metres with SATISFIER down the track in sixth after being slowly into stride.

However, SATISFIER, who showed his fitness against AD INFINITUM in the Harry Jackson before RUM TALK came with his winning run, should relish the additional furlong.

CHIPONYOURSHOULDER won't have an unmolested lead as GOOD SENSE, BLUE MARLIN and STRONG DELIVERY should keep him busy before SATISFIER makes his move.

At 10-year-old, he has lost some of his pace but he's a battler over longer distances and should prove too strong in the final furlong against used-up runners trying to get the distance.

Good start

The champion team of trainer Wayne DaCosta and jockey Omar Walker should set Track Price Plus Pick-6 players off to a good start by landing the first and third races with the American-bred debutant SKITTLE QUEEN and MARK TO MARKET.

SKITTLE QUEEN looked good at exercise, clocking 1:07.4 for five and a half-furlong Sunday morning and 1:00.1 for five furlongs round the previous Monday.

MARK TO MARKET tested overnight allowance waters behind stablemate MR SKILL at 1200 metres on January 3 and looks ready to chase and beat down-in-class RIGMAROLE at 1100 metres.

RIGMAROLE is speedy but has not raced in more than two months, rather strange for a sprinter and could be suspect against matching speed.

Elsewhere on the 10-race card, YOSHI is up in class but won commandingly enough to repeat his December 6 win at 1000 metres in the fifth. In the following event, take JOHNNY APPLESEED to beat maidens at 1300 metres. He has been knocking at the door in recent races and should get the better of the less-experienced BROTHERLY LOVE.

Close all bets with ROYAL MAJESTY in the 10th at 1300 metres. He obviously did not like the blinkers with which he was fitted when coming off a three-month lay-up in December and should rebound with the visor refitted.
