Three women killed

Three women were shot dead in separate incidents in St James and St Andrew on Wednesday. One man was also injured.

In the first incident, a 23-year-old woman was shot dead and her common-law husband shot and injured at White Wing Walk, Kingston 11 on Wednesday .

Dead is Lena Clarke, secretary of White Wing Walk, and injured was a 32-year-old businessman of Potosi Avenue, Kingston 20.

Reports are that about 1:00 a.m. the couple was at home when a gunman kicked open their front door. He entered and opened fire, hitting the pair. The police were called and they were taken to hospital where Clarke was pronounced dead and the man treated.

The St Andrew South homicide unit is investigating

In St James, the Montego Bay CIB has commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of two women at Providence Way, Ironshore, in the parish on Wednesday afternoon.

Dead are 25-year-old Toni Noble, otherwise called 'Munchie' and Alician Smith, 29, also called 'Coochie', both of Lilliput, St. James.

The Constabulary Commun-ication Network's liaison officer for St. James reported that about 12 p.m., residents of Providence Way reported hearing explosions and called the police.

The lawmen who responded found the women along the roadway, suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.
