Promoters, Billy-zee Clarke and Jamie Recas are convinced that their weekly Friday Night Live party will be experiencing greater things in the future.
Although the event, which is held at The Office in New Kingston, has been around for just five months, music-savvy supporters, including sprint star Usain Bolt, have made it their place to party.
Clarke, a graduate of Wolmers High School for boys and Hillel Academy, told The STAR he was somewhat surprised by the amount of support the party had received in such a short time.
"I am not going to lie. What we believed was that if we continue to bring something different every week, then it (party) would take off," said Clarke. "But we never know how soon it would build. When we start we weren't doing so well, but we stick it out."
The party industry
Meanwhile Recas, who studies at the University of the West Indies, says he is pleased with the support and hopes the good start will translate into their being a force in the party industry.
"The people them come out and enjoy themselves responsibly and everybody dance. No one is standing and watching anybody, so I am pleased with everything," Recas told The STAR.
The two say they share the same goals and hint that that is one of the reasons for their success.
"We want to build it (the party) as a wholesale name, to enable us to venture off into bigger, better things. Jamie is like my brother; we are good friends and we share a common goal. It doesn't come better," said Clarke.
Vibes were electric
The STAR visited the party, where the vibes were electric and the patrons were moving at full throttle to the songs played by Darkcode and DJ Shane.
It took a very smart performance from DJ Shane to control the eager patrons, who were very quick to 'boo' whenever the lyrics of rivals Mavado and Kartel were played.
A string of Beenie Man songs afterward proved timely, as the women, dressed in their most outrageous outfits, performed moves with the men, who seemed very pleased.
Outside the venue two other parties were in full flow, but it appears that The Office was the place to be, as more patrons kept pouring in with the morning breeze.
The session ended with hits from R&B pop queens Beyonce' and Keisha Cole, as well as dance songs from Elephant Man, RDX, and Voicemail.
Patrons form a party line as they get ready to get down to business at the Friday Night Live Party, held at The Office, New Kingston, last Friday.
Who says you can't party while seated? These two prove it can be just as fun.
These two get close as they rock to the music of Darkcode and DJ Shane.
